Role of development Human Resource Management in leadership

 

 

In contemporary fast tracking world the leadership plays a major role in developing an organization. Leadership development is vital as the whole company’s or the organization’s success depends on it.

If the leaders are not capable of moving with the fast moving world, the whole organization would collapse. Therefore the development of the leadership is very important and Human Resource Management is there to assist to attract more talented people for the company and to motivate them in performing well at their best for the growth and success of the company.

In this process leadership development plays a vital role. When HR focus on this there can be made a positive difference within the entire organization.

 

When establishing an effective leadership for a company, the HR should consider some facts such as,

1. Defining what is effective leadership

HR needs to create a standard model of leadership within the entire organization and also should understand that leadership is not only responsible for the performances of the organization and whole organization should bear it. With good leadership qualities employees can improve themselves as well as the entire company. Leaders should be flexible and should have management skills and patience for better management of the organization and should have a good understanding about the capabilities of the workforce and the overview of the company to enhance the productivity.

 

2. Developing leadership skills

In most of the companies when the leaders are appointed they don’t get proper leadership skills development trainings or programs. It is essential to have good leadership skills development programs to be held for the leaders to improve their skills which already have and to acquire new skills for the betterment of the organizational success. It is important not only for the existing leaders to have development programs but also for the future leaders and for the working staff should have these programs to level up their efficiency.

3. Creating systems and policies which supports effective leadership

HR have the responsibility of creating suitable systems, processes and policies which helps the effective leadership. There should be systems and processes like recruiting, performance management etc. as well as there should be policies to maintain the rules and regulations which help in leading and managing the staff and the others in the organization. Also there should be a proper system for promotions for the employees inside the organization by lending more opportunities for the right people with potential and skills.

 

4. Internal, external and cultural alignment for effective leadership

The leadership model of the company should always blend with the other procedures and the processes of the organization. The leaders should align with the processes which takes place in the organization and also blend with the recognition programs. Organization’s culture should be valued by the leadership and should respect the other aspects of the organization.



 

 

Conclusion

In conclusion HR plays a vital role in leadership development in an organization and to go through the path of success. It benefits the organizations for better management and to minimize the work related issues regarding leadership. HR helps the organization in a multiple way and it leads the organization towards the success by creating a strong leadership model.
